28th Annual Eastside Culture Crawl
The Eastside Culture Crawl is back for its 28th year, with an even larger number of participating established and emerging artists opening up their studios, workshops, and galleries over the course of the four-day festival, from Nov 14-17, 2024.
Over 500 artists
Overall, this year's event has 500+ registered artists, 55+ participating buildings, and 90+ new artists. Artists specializing in painting, jewelry, sculpture, furniture, leather goods, photography, glass works, textiles, and more, will showcase their artistic process for Culture Crawl visitors.
New for 2024
And for the first time, the Culture Crawl will introduce a new pop-up exhibit designed to enhance accessibility for artists who work from their Eastside Arts District homes, but who are unable to open their studios to the public. Five artists will participate at the pop-up studio at the Progress Lab for the first time.

History
Each November for 28 years, the Eastside Arts Society (EAS) has hosted the Eastside Culture Crawl, a festival showcasing visual arts, design, and crafts. During this event, artists in Vancouver's Eastside welcome the public into their studios. The festival covers an area from Columbia Street to 2nd Avenue, Victoria Drive, and the Waterfront, featuring a diverse group of artists—painters, sculptors, photographers, potters, furniture makers, and more—ranging from emerging talents to internationally recognized creators.
In addition to open studio visits, the event offers workshops, demonstrations, exhibits, and artist talks, providing insight into the wide variety of visual art practices in the area. Known as "the Crawl," the event is popular among both seasoned art enthusiasts and newcomers. The Eastside Arts Society, a registered charity, produces this event as part of its efforts to support contemporary visual arts in Vancouver. As it enters its 28th year, the EAS is introducing new initiatives to sustain art in Vancouver's Eastside for years to come.
