Bruce La Bruce’s, ‘The Visitor’ - Part of the Rio Grind Film Festival

A re-imagining of Pier Paolo Pasolini’s TEOREMA (1968), THE VISITOR follows a refugee who washes up in a small suitcase on the banks of the River Thames in London. Arriving at the house of an upper-class family, he seduces each and every family member, depicted in explicit sex scenes. He will turn their world upside down as they are able to redefine themselves in new, radical ways.

Canadian queer icon and provocateur Bruce La Bruce’s latest features burlesque star Bishop Black in the titular role.

“Brilliantly depraved… It’s hard to imagine anyone better suited to sticking two middle fingers up at contemporary Britain than LaBruce, and it’s even harder to imagine anyone else doing so with such disruptive, subversive glee.” (IndieWire)

“Bruce La Bruce reimagines Pier Paolo Pasolini’s 1968 masterpiece to tackle sexual liberation and the immigrant life with the very explicit The Visitor, a pornographic picture that is as carnal as it is politically charged.”
