We’ll begin in McSpadden Park with some pre-March festivities and a community art project to create the new Vancouver Dyke March banner for this year. Then, the March will leave McSpadden Park and we’ll make our way down Commercial Drive to end at the Festival at Grandview Park. The Festival will continue until 5 PM and will include stage performances, community vendors, and food trucks.

Please be aware that this event is held outside, often on one of the hottest weekends of the year. Wear sunscreen, hats & sunglasses, weather-appropriate clothing, and stay hydrated! Please also note that this is a non-smoking event.

We encourage folks to wear masks at this event when in crowded areas, and to respect other participants’ decisions to wear masks or physically distance from others. Let’s keep each other safe!

The Vancouver Dyke March has always been and continues to be a protest organized to celebrate and uplift the voices of folks who are marginalized, particularly on the basis of gender, within the broader pride movement. TERF, SWERF, and Fascist messages are not welcome at our event, as they violate our participant code of conduct.

The Vancouver Dyke March does not invite police to participate in our march or utilize them for the security of our march. However, the City of Vancouver will be sending uniformed officers to ensure traffic safety while we march. We respect that this may be a barrier for participants and want to be transparent about the anticipated police presence so everyone can make an informed decision about whether they want to march with us.

The Vancouver Dyke March and Festival Society is a grassroots, nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization which, with love, energy, purpose, and sustainability, plans and produces the Annual Vancouver Dyke March and Festival to celebrate and centre the experiences of those whose gender identity or expression intersects with their sexual orientation to further marginalize them.

We strive to make our free and all-ages events accessible. We seek to honour our roots and history while allowing for change which responds to the dynamic and evolving needs of our communities. Our events aim to recharge us through inclusive celebration.
