A Christmas Carol ... In Gay Apparel

A Christmas Carol In Gay Apparel is a charming comedic parody of the Dicken's classic holiday tale, and the coming out story of Eleanor Crooge.

Eleanor S. Crooge has the same classic ‘humbug’ issues as the Dickens’ character, along with the added burden of being in denial that she is gay. She works tirelessly at her yoga clothing company, staffed by a quartet of queer eccentrics, who try their best to share holiday cheer despite their employer’s tight control and pent-up sexual angst.

Tina Tim, a high school student and victim of homophobic bullying, has the audacity to ask Crooge for a donation toward the creation of a Gay Straight Alliance at her school.

Marley is a college girlfriend who visits Crooge many years later as a ghost in her closet, followed by visits from the Ghosts of Lesbians Past, Present, and Future. We see many scenes of Crooge’s life enacted as the ghosts urge her towards being her authentic self.

The performance is 1.5 hours with a 15 minute intermission
