ABOUT US

For over a decade, New West Pride has been a beacon for the LGBTQ2S+ community in New Westminster.

Comprised entirely of volunteers and supported through community grants and sponsorship, New West Pride is truly grass roots. Originally under the supervision of Vance McFayden, a community member with a belief that our Royal City could be better, he and others petitioned City Council for official recognition. With a unanimous vote the Royal City Pride Society was created.

Since then the Society has grown. What started as a small gathering in Tipperary Park has become an executive, a board of directors, and a tremendous group of volunteers. Together we work throughout the entire year to develop events, plan fund raisers and create change in our community. The crowning jewel has been the yearly festival, which has grown to over 40 thousand attendees.
