We Forgot to Break Up (With Live Q&A): March 19

WE FORGOT TO BREAK UP follows the story of a diverse group of musicians, in the vibrant bar scene of Toronto, who come together to form a band with a mission: to ignite a musical revolution. As they channel their individual struggles and experiences into their music, ‘The New Normals’ create a dynamic, rock sound that transcends gender and orientation, captivating a changing world. But as they rise to fame, personal and romantic entanglements complicate their journey.

Based on Kayt Burgess’ award-winning book “Heidegger Stairwell,” WE FORGOT TO BREAK UP is a heartwarming and fiercely authentic story of music, love, and friendship in the indie music scene circa the early 2000s, as they strive to make their voices heard and forge an unshakable bond that transcends labels. With Lane Webber, Daniel Gravelle, June Laporte.

Filmmakers including musician Torquil Campbell (Stars) and actor June LaPorte will be joining us live for a post-show Q&A.

The Cosplay Swimsuit Contest: March 21

H Cupcake Productions was founded with the goals of bringing laughter and smiles to adults, while supporting the needs of children. While the world hasn’t been the kindest place these past few years, the organization’s mission is event-driven, with the goal of bringing as much joy as possible to as many people as possible. The group has been the main event for adult entertainment at Anime Revolution since 2012, with an average current attendance of 3,400 people.

This Cosplay Swimsuit Contest will benefit BC Children’s Hospital, with proceeds going towards purchasing a soft stuffed animal for a child in need at BC Children’s. (When else are you going to get to see Burlesque, Singing, Dancing, Feats of Athletics and get to feel good about funding a charity!)

The event’s lineup includes many past favourites from the group’s annual perfomance at Anime Revolution, including: Veilsinclair, JMRohCreations, Brystak, Vancity_Ranger, Vexxerity, Gothish.Rain, Bad Sheep Cosplay, Cookie._.Rush, Jessisagoshdarnmess, Kamistry, Sharkiekitty and Milkiway.Cosplay.
