Welcome to Libra Season - Libra Suns and Ascendants

Venus isn’t the only planet in detriment this week; beginning Wednesday, September 22nd, we see the Sun move into the sign of his fall, Libra, heralding in an era affectionately known for its engaging mix of love and war.

Welcome to Libra Season and to the uniquely powerful energy of Cardinal Air! As is the case with all Cardinal signs, the Sun's ingress into Libra marks the Fall Equinox - when the Day meets the Night - and when all things hang in a beautiful and delicate balance.

Like the Equinox, those with Libra Suns and Ascendants walk the line between darkness and light, skillfully navigating the black and white nature of morality - of what is good and what is bad - and often choosing grey.

This can make them infuriating conversationalists  (though they are gifted with a sociable and engaging personality), as they are able to see many more sides to one issue or story than most would bother seeking to look into, let alone understand as Libras do.

Represented in Tarot as the Major Arcana, Justice, Libra Suns and Ascendants are the ultimate judges and jury. They have a finely tuned sense of equality and any slight against that will be dealt with swiftly and with a forceful hand. As for every other decision, well... don't expect them to be so quick to the jump. They are truth-seekers, after all, and what that means is ALWAYS subjective. You best believe they will take their time thinking on what their move is long before they make it.

Ruled by the planet Venus, Libras are known for their love of Love and the charm bestowed upon them by the Goddess herself. Their natural mode of living is in partnership and harmony with the Other - whether this be romantic relationships, family, friends, their community, or the stranger they made brief eye contact with on the train this morning. Libras can (and do) romanticize ANYTHING, preferring the poetry spun in their heads to the boring reality of their commute to work.

All of this said, Libra Suns and Risings, my advice to you this beautifully darkening season is this: you benefit from strengthening your will to act in favour of your higher purpose - which, rather than making any one individual all-important and consuming, ultimately lies in dedicating yourself to humanity at large.

You are remarkable people. I hope your season brings you love the way YOU need it, and a strengthening of character like never before.
