Chocolate & Chicken Bones

SWAN Vancouver presents, in partnership with SUM Gallery – Queer Arts Festival, Chocolate and Chicken Bones, a photo voice exhibition. This project provides im/migrant sex workers an opportunity to self-represent their lived experiences and bring forth a dimension, reality and perspective which policy makers and law enforcement have neglected and dismissed. By using photo voice, migrant sex workers take control of the snapshots that tell stories about their lives. They control the camera and the perspective. They control what comes into the shot and what gets left out. They tell the stories. This project was funded through a generous grant from the Charity Pot Program through LUSH Cosmetics. Show runs until Thursday, Feb 7.

Man Up; Astrological Drag

New Year new me?! Or same old mistakes? Whether you're declaring resolutions of staying right on your bullsh*t, it's the start of a new year and we all have something special to offer in 2019. Someone somewhere once called astrology the most lesbian conversation topic next to U-Haul’s and Tracy Chapman, and let me tell you, I couldn't agree more, nor be more proud. They’re calling ALL dirty dozen zodiac signs to come represent the best (and worst?) of their celestial spirits, especially as their performers line up their signs and perform for you. I’m a Cancer so Cinnamon Winters better do me proud!

9pm—2am. The Warehouse at Eastside Studios, 555 Malkin Ave. $10 before 10pm, $15 after.

Dick Safari

Davie Street is getting known for a lot of meat, and it’s not because there is any butcher shops opening. It is because of the number of men Del Stamp and Alma Bitches can convince so easily to either drop trou or climb in a shower. Tonight is monthly amateur strip where more than a few have been enticed to bare as you dare. Fridays, catch the same dastardly and perpetually horny duo at Jacked across the street at PJ’s where at least you can watch the sausage get washed before it gets touched.

10pm. The Junction, 1138 Davie St. Cover $5. Dick Safari
