Hankie Anyone?

Who would have thought when King Richard II of England invented the Handkerchief that it would become the gay fashion icon it has become for broadcasting your sexual desires across a room just by hanging out out of the appropriate back pocket? Just a note for you guys, Pink is the lesbian hanky signal for breast fondler: so that’s why my friend Syd was so popular at the Dykes on Bikes rally…and he just had the sniffles. Tonight, wear your hankies with Pride and have some fun as DJ Quest rocks the floor.

Oh Daddy! A Father’s Day Extravaganza!

As I can personally attest to this being one of the most fun things to do on a Sunday afternoon. Ryan and his crew, plus the Unstoppable Conni Smudge, managed to make all 75 people on the cruise feel like royalty. The brunch is delicious and never ending and the mimosas were refreshing and bottomless. If mimosa is not your thing then Lola will be happy to whip you up your usual cocktails. As usual Conni was over the top, even with her 8 or so costume changes. Definably made a return customer out of me and I urge everyone to give it a try. Beautiful boat, beautiful crew and Connie…let’s just leave it at that.

11am—2pm. Yoho Cruises, 1698 Duranleau St, Granville Island. Tickets $55 and info at Connie`s Who`s Your Daddy Cruise

Queer Arts Festival

On June 28, 2019, we’ll be 50 years from Stonewall - fifty long, slow revolutions of the earth around the sun since the partial decriminalization of sodomy in Canada (for some people, some of the time, in some places… ) Art sparked Stonewall: the queers who fought back that day were gathered to mourn the death of Judy Garland.  QAF rEvolution gathers together artists who push and transgress; engaging with our annals of struggle and erasure to revamp the artifacts of the past and turn them to our own ends: art as the evolution of the revolution. Viewed as one of the top 5 queer arts and cultural festivals in the world and it is here for you to enjoy until Friday, June 28. Check out the website for events, plays, venues and tickets. Sometimes there are gay events that are so popular they sell out weeks before you may even hear about them. If there is an event like that which gives back to a good cause, then I will be posting one of them here, so you have a chance to get your tickets before they are gone.
