This Is Your Life: Rainbow Roundtable

This week they'll talk about their submission to the arts and culture exhibit for folks 55+ "Older and Creating It" this June at the Roundhouse. Édouard will help brainstorm ideas for the project and in the second half they'll have some film practice time. Édouard will impart his many years of experience as a YouTube content creator to give techniques that will make you look like pros! 55+ and want to get involved, get in touch.

Spark-Rubbout

Join the Vancouver Rubbermen for a slick social get together! This is the second of the Rubbout 2019 Kick off events, so take the opportunity to rubber up and come meet some of the boys you will be meeting and playing with on Rubbout weekend. Prep your inner pervert for the biggest gay rubber event on the West Coast. At this VRM event, there will be rubber bondage galore to experience, electro demos, and opportunities to prepare for ordering and purchasing new rubber and meet other like-minded rubber perverts! Get your slick tightness on and come out.

CATA invites community members who identify as Two-Spirit, trans, transgender, gender nonconforming, nonbinary, genderfluid, genderqueer, third gender, are non-labeling and/or do not identify within the cisheteronormative paraidgm to join for a Trans Community Town Hall. Come discuss the past, present and possible futures of the local/regional trans and gender diverse communities.

Rainbow Karaoke

For some reason Rainbow Karaoke brings to mind sparkly unicorns and laughter, when for me it should bring back visions of far too many tequila shots and a very off tune rendition of We Will Rock You. Needless to say my days of singing a tune are decades far behind me but Im always down to check out a new ingénue or two.

Misfits is a drag show taking place every third Monday of the month hosted by Molly Poppinz & Xana X with a collective of Vancouver drag artists, queens, kings and things! This show is a space for all performers to come together and celebrate the diversity the scene has to offer.

Double Trouble

Tuesday night has arrived, and you sit at home wondering what to do. Double Trouble is a show that aims to create a sense of community in a relaxed setting, with an emphasis on bringing fun back to drag. What is this show? Queer Med Student Q&A

Ok so will this show appeal to the hypochondriac side of me or the hospital patient/doctor role playing side of me? Come participate in an open dialogue with UBC medical students on a Trans patient experience in BC's medical system. Come with your questions and wisdom and help build a better relationship between the Trans community and the medical establishment. The LGBTQ+ Mentorship group at UBC Medicine is a place for queer students to connect, share stories, and support one another through the journey towards becoming a physician. It is a confidential group that meets regularly for social events, and also hosts events for the wider UBC Medicine community to help expose their classmates to queer culture.

"Awesome" - John Ferrie

Unless you have been living under a rock at Wreck Beach everyone has heard of John Ferrie, one of Vancouver’s top artists and you have probably seen his artwork hanging in any one of your peer’s abodes. Now is your chance to see all the magic up close in a new collection of paintings on display as part of “Awesome”, John’s new collection. This is your chance to purchase an “Awesome” new piece and be the envy of all your friends. The new collection truly is “Awesome” and if you are looking to finally get me a nice present, one would look fabulous in my own Ferrie collection. Mpowerment's Spring Fling

It's that time of year where the cold, damp and sometimes snowy west coast winter thaws into spring. To mark the season, you are cordially invited to Mpowerment’s Spring Fling for an exciting night of great music, dancing, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, food, games, and more. Loud and Queer

Sounds like the autobiography of Ms barb Snelgrove!  This concert recognizes the fiftieth anniversary of homosexual rights in Canada and celebrates the many, many vibrant voices that make up our queer community. This concert is presented in partnership with Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the Queer Arts Festival. There will be a panel discussion featuring several members of the community, beginning at approximately 6:00 pm and running for one hour.

Savage Love Live

Having been to more than one of these events by Dan Savage I can tell you it is entertaining, informative and a lot of fun. The Savage Lovecast is coming to Vancouver for a live performance of Dan Savage's popular sex-and-relationship-advice podcast! Join Dan, Nancy, the tech-savvy, at-risk youth and get all of your questions answered live on stage, but only if you have dropped them in the bin before the show so bring them written down.  With special musical guest Rachel Lark and comedian Corina Lucas!

After a sold out engagement in New Westminster the boys are back in town and ready to slay you as well. Join for an evening of live-singing, female-impersonating & musical entertainment performed by the VMC’s own inner-diva starlets, featuring covers of your favourite recognizable (some unrecognizable) divas! This musical treat promises you more evening-length glamour, more vocal-feats, higher kicks and more synthetic hair than seen at your cousin’s wedding! Mark your social calendar and bring your friends! Proceeds help support the VMC in its LGBT community outreach and main stage concert programming. Warning! Viewers may be exposed to wardrobe malfunctions, flying sequins, improvised lyrics, mixing of fabric patterns, polyester blends, gender-questioning sexual urges, infectious camp and other spontaneously occurring un-scripted performance phenomenon!
