It’s almost like Gilligan’s Island, but with Conni Smudge instead of Mary Anne. A nice boat with two decks, which is DECKS, Connie! Throw in an all you can eat buffet, bottomless mimosas, an omelette bar and you won’t care what song the old gal is doing, but you know the afternoon will be fabulous. If you get shipwrecked remember to grab the mimosas before Smudge gets her hands on them, or you. Hosted by Go Team Vancouver this is the annual softball BBQ that is a launch to the 2019 slo-pitch tournament season. Come help support the LGBT teams that travel to tournaments around the country.

The American Wet Dream 2: A Rock n Roll Dance Cabaret

The Lolas are back in action for The American Wet Dream 2: Wetter & Dreamier. Hosted at the Biltmore Cabaret, the Lolas dancers will perform a tantalizing revue-style dance cabaret that embodies rock ‘n' roll GoGo babes, blues-y seductresses, disco queens, captivating country girls, and rock-opera goddesses. The American Wet Dream is a cabaret celebration of the ever-changing pop culture icon known globally as The American Woman. And no your eyes are not playing tricks on you, that is Carlotta Gurl with them in the flesh as she is the fabulous host for the evening. Snatch Game

Anything I could say right now could definitely get me into trouble so I will pass. Snatch Game is a parody of the classic TV show, "Match Game", which aired from 1962 to 1991, where contestants attempted to match celebrities' answers to "fill-in-the-blank" questions. Come see fellow QueerProvers doing their best celebrity impersonations as well as performing improv in between questions!

C.E. Gatchalian's Double Melancholy

Please join for the Vancouver launch of C.E. Gatchalian's memoir DOUBLE MELANCHOLY: THE MAKING OF A BROWN QUEER MAN, hosted by Vancouver theatre artist and cultural leader Valerie Sing Turner. ShareLove for STRUT - TELUS Days of Giving Charity Drag Show

Spectrum BC, TELUS' LGBTQ+ Team Member Resource Group, is proud to present "#ShareLove for STRUT: A TELUS Days of Giving Charity Drag Show". STRUT is the premiere annual fundraising event for the Foundation of Hope (FoH), whose mission is to financially support Canadian charitable organizations helping asylum seekers, refugees, circles of hope (private sponsorship groups), and newcomers to Canada. All donations raised through this charity drag show will go to supporting the TELUS STRUT team. Hosted by TELUS' own Joan-E, and Sienna Blaze, this show brings together an array of talent from across Vancouver. Featuring  Nadya Business, Imelda Mae Santos, Rogue, Molly Poppinz, Alma Bitches, Carlotta Gurl, Myria Le Noir, Gia Metric, Conni Smudge and many more. Maybe even a guest spot by that famous Telus Queen, now what was her name, Ernestine? No that’s not it, Selma Bush that’s it, maybe the old girl can dust off her operators uniform and throw a few switches.

RuPaul's Drag Race: Season 11 Tour

For all my friends that say they hate drag but never seem to leave the house Thursday nights until late then now is your chance to catch them live and in person. The 11th season of Emmy Award-winning "RuPaul's Drag Race" has proven itself to be the most fashionable, fearless and jaw-dropping spectacle in "Drag Race" herstory! Asia O’Hara hosts your Season 11 favourites including A’keria Davenport, Brooke Lynn Hytes, Honey Davenport, Ra'jah O’Hara, Silky Nutmeg Ganache, Soju, Vanessa Vanjie Mateo and Yvie Oddly in Vancouver for one night only, unless they have a tiff.

Lamondance New show "Viva"

VIVA is Lamondance's tenth show and delves into themes of nostalgia, addiction, celebration, children's curiosity, empowerment, farewells, crowds, anticipation, solitary, illusion, and life transformations. Above all VIVA celebrates ‘freedom’ as a danceform. Show runs until Saturday, June 1.

Parents Are A Drag: Vancouver International Children’s festival

Join local drag queens Peach Cobblah & Isolde N. Barron for a drag dress-up spectacular! Add some rainbow to your day at this fun and inclusive event which reminds young ones, their parents, caregivers and everyone in between that it’s never too early (or too late!) to get silly and dress-up! Parents are a Drag celebrates diversity with songs, laughter and play. With opportunities for the audience to become part of the show, be sure to come dressed to impress or ready for some dress-up time. Show runs until Sunday, June 2.

Trans Archival Futures

Multi-media artists Chase Joynt and Chris E. Vargas are working at the epicenter of contemporary Trans representational practice and visual culture. Trans Archival Futures is a presentation of their recent film and archival work: Vargas’ project MOTHA: Museum of Transgender Hirstory & Art which was recently on display at the New Museum, and Joynt’s short film Framing Agnes. This event is in conversation with Archivist-in-Residence Sophie Roberge's "Every Queer Thing" project at VIVO 2019. As trans artists who mobilize hybrid methods of aesthetic inquiry that strategically cross artistic, activist, and academic lines, Joynt and Vargas together call attention to the impact of archives and archival practices in the production of both historical pasts and aesthetic futures. The audience is invited to joinfor conversation, snacks and cocktails following the event.

Q Choir presents Under the Umbrella

An enthusiastic, queer-oriented group of Vancouver singers performing primarily popular music directed by Elyse Kantonen. Come celebrate their Under the Umbrella show as partial proceeds to be donated to Rainbow Refugee, a local, grassroots, volunteer-run organization that supports gay refugees from around the world to escape persecution and to come to safety in Canada.

Lick Club / Queer Dance Party

Hosted by BRIGEE K // featuring DJs T, KG FRESH, DJ KRISTA and SKYLAR LOVE playing a mash up of Queer Qlub jams, hip hop, Dancehall, 90s and house music. Dancing on the stage we have the vixen herself Cass Podor from House of La Douche and Helen Marley showcasing their love of movement and dance alongside some of Vancouver‘s favourite Queer DJs. These incredible womxn have a captivating presence and undeniable ability to connect with the music and inspire the crowd to let loose on the dance floor. Two bars, rad dance floor, free pool, lots of chill space and outdoor smoking hangout.

Drag Camp for All Ages

Come check out Vancouver’s first Drag Camp for All Ages presented by the Storytelling with Drag Queens Foundation and hosted by Candie. Learn about the educational and per formative aspects of drag through our fun family event. Mini-Workshops include: Costume Design, Makeup, Performance, Drag History and Culture / Storytelling. This session is about performance with Tommi, GaySha and Tara Beladi.

Suicide Intervention For Weirdo’s, Freaks, And Queers

This is an intro-level workshop for folks who want to build and share skills around supporting people who are suicidal. This is not a certification course- it's an opportunity to gather and share what we know about supporting suicidal family, friends and community members, in a structured and facilitated way. We will discuss commonly held beliefs about suicide and suicide intervention, and how those impact folks seeking support. We will then name, describe, and practice some concrete skills and tools to use in conversations with folks struggling with suicidal feelings or impulses. There will not be any role playing, and participation in all activities is voluntary.

1—4pm Sunday, OR, 6—9pm Monday. Sunday is at Reach Community Health Centre, 1145 Commercial Dr. Monday is at Trinity Grace United Church, 803 East 16th Ave. Both are the same workshop. Registration $25--$85 at Suicide Intervention

Women Deliver 2019 Conference: Power, Progress and Change

The Women Deliver 2019 Conference will be the world’s largest conference on gender equality and the health, rights, and wellbeing of girls and women. From keynotes to social enterprise pitches, workshops to film festivals, there will be countless opportunities to engage, gather inspiration, and build a more gender equal world. Women Deliver stages attract the greatest minds, strongest activists, and most progressive leaders from across the globe including Justin Trudeau, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, Shahira Amin, Anoka Primrose, Barkha Dutt and Kobe Smith.  More than 7,000 world leaders, influencers, advocates, academics, activists, and journalists will flock to Vancouver with the drive to accelerate progress for girls and women everywhere. The conference is a platform for people and organizations from around the world to present new knowledge, promote world-class solutions, and engage a broad spectrum of voices. Conference runs until Thursday, June 6 at the Vancouver Convention Centre, 999 Canada Place.

Nanaimo Pride

Pride season has begun so start saving those pennies and get your butt over to sunny Nanaimo, just watch out for Conni Smudge as that is her territory. Pride runs until Sunday, June 9 and has everything from raising the flag, Queer youth dance, Cut a thon (yes hair) to the parade and a lot more. The Tilt Show 

The Tilt is a sketch comedy duo featuring Mallory Gallant and Steve Sidi. Prairie born, Toronto trained and Vancouver based, this comedy husband and wife enjoy eye rolling, death dropping, high kicking, sick beats and singing Whitney Houston off key. And as they both say, “Laugh with us, laugh at us, and once again - witness the car crash that is this relationship”.

Queer Elders Prom Night - Dance & Social

Join LGBTQ2S folks and allies for a fun-filled evening of dance and light-hearted fun. Dress up in your finest or come as you are. Short, fun, dance instruction at 7:30pm. No partner needed. Featuring emcee Empress XXIV Sushi Roll, DJ K-Tel, and the Vancouver Dogwood Monarchist Society crowning the Prom Queen and King. There’ll be prizes and cheap drinks, free food.

The Queen In Me

Part of the 2019 Queer Arts Festival, Teiya Kasahara – a biracial, masculine non-binary female artist – explores the constraints of conventional opera roles and their reliance on gender and sex stereotypes and explodes traditional expectations of demure muses and femme fatales by turning opera on its head. Combining Mozart’s, the Queen of the Night with original text and classical opera, THE QUEEN IN ME serves as a critique of the opera industry and a reimagining of what it could be. Created and performed by Teiya Kasahara and directed by Andrea Donaldson. Presented by Amplified Opera and Theatre Gargantua. Show runs tonight and Saturday.
