The City of Vancouver’s Transits: March 15-April 15, 2021

Have you ever wondered why everyone around you seems to almost collectively undergo similar - if not the exact same - feelings, motivations, or stressors as you around the same time? This is, of course, in due part to the Moon and her ingress across the night sky, but this can also be said of the other planets transiting the same zones of our lovely Vancouver skyline - the process of which involves casting the City of Vancouver’s ‘natal’ chart and tracking where the planets are moving within it.

If you are curious about transits (your own or otherwise), we recommend the chart services over at Astro.com. A transit reading is a study of how the moving planets are currently transiting your personal chart - that is, how the stars are affecting you, and why. If you've ever felt under the weather for no reason or had a string of bad luck come your way, the answers can be found here. The same can be said for our collective experience living within the same city - with the same city’s transits.

For the month of March 15 to April 15, 2021, we will undergo the following:

Transit Sun conjunct ‘Natal’ Sun in Aries:

With the Sun returning to Aries, the people of Vancouver are gifted with the Sun in his Exaltation: he loves being in the sign of Aries, as it grants a boost in energy, positive motivation, and general ‘joyous’ disposition to the city. This is the month to bring all the things we previously put on the backburner to the forefront of our considerable energies: we are likely to be fast in every sense of the word, the masters of starting projects (though not necessarily finishing them) and staying physically busy. With that being said, the downside to having active minds and busy lives is that while the transit Sun is here, we may lack the discipline and forethought necessary to see things to completion or avoid chaos without purpose - we may even be prone to huge impatience and bouts of impulsive behaviours that are not in alignment with our ultimate goals. Like the energy of the first rush of Spring (of which Aries Season kicks off, naturally), we will move about the world in a forceful way.

Finding a way to squeeze meditation, quiet journaling, yoga, or even a regular spa trip into our suddenly huge to-do lists would do wonders for increasing patience, planning, and self-appraisal.

Transit Mercury in Pisces in opposition with ‘Natal’ Mars in Virgo:

This is a challenging aspect to work through, especially collectively, as we will all be feeling the same harshness that this transit can bring. With transit Mercury in Vancouver’s natal 8th

House, we are less interested in niceties and shallow conversations and would much prefer to narrow in on the root of the issue, topic, or conversation at hand with those around us.

With this no-nonsense energy in combination with an opposition to Mars, the potential to ‘go off’ unprovoked is strong, making us much more defensive and combative than usual. We are gifted with silver tongues, yes - but that of the same sharpness as a blade. We would be wise to pause and respond to one another rather than react immediately. With the Sun-Sun conjunction in Aries, this thoughtfulness may not find its realization easily, but if we are not willing to face the repercussions of our words, some of us just may have to hunker down and isolate until the Mercury-Mars opposition is over.
