After more than 40 years at its Bute Street location, BC’s queer, trans, and Two-Spirit resource centre is building a new 13,000-square-foot home at 981 Davie Street.
Celebrating 50 years, the Rocky Horror Picture Show is messy, camp, and unapologetically strange. A film that doesn’t just include queerness but thrives on it.

The idea of ‘coming out’ in pre 1960s was one that imitated a débutant’s coming out into society. But after the Stonewall Riots, the term took on the overtones of exiting from oppression.
Two Spirit is an Indigenous term that reflects diverse roles and identities rooted in culture, land, and spirit. Its meaning continues to grow as part of both Indigenous resurgence and the 2SLGBTQiA+ community.
The notion that Halloween became a queer holiday in the past decade or two is wrong. In fact, its roots to the queer community are almost a century old.
