New Initiative: Inclusive Peoples Coalition

A New Voice for Inclusion

A new organization is stepping forward to make a difference. The Inclusive Peoples Coalition (IPC) is a grassroots initiative based in Surrey, BC, committed to supporting the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and other marginalized groups in the Lower Mainland. At a time when hate-driven rhetoric and divisive policies are on the rise, IPC is taking a stand for unity, support, and positive change.

Why IPC Was Formed

The founders of IPC recognize an urgent need for stronger community connections and better communication among individuals and organizations advocating for human rights. The rise of anti-2SLGBTQIA+ policies, particularly those targeting trans youth, has alarmed many across Canada. In places like Alberta, legislative changes have endangered the rights and well-being of transgender individuals, fueling a broader concern about the spread of harmful ideologies. With right-wing extremism gaining traction, IPC was established to build a network of support and education, countering hate through empowerment and visibility.

IPC’s Mission and Goals

The core mission of IPC is simple yet powerful: to counter hate through inclusion, positivity, and connection. This means creating opportunities for engagement, amplifying marginalized voices, and fostering partnerships across different advocacy groups. IPC seeks to bridge gaps between individuals and organizations that are working toward a common goal—an inclusive and accepting society.

To achieve this, IPC has outlined several key goals:

  • A Communication Hub – IPC provides a central platform to share news, events, and resources relevant to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in the Lower Mainland.

  • Resource Sharing – Whether it’s information on legal rights, mental health support, or community programs, IPC compiles and distributes valuable resources.

  • Advocacy and Support – The organization works to uplift and protect community members through advocacy efforts and direct support initiatives.

  • Positive Representation – IPC is committed to highlighting the achievements and contributions of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community to foster a greater sense of belonging.

  • Cultural Literacy and Allyship – Education is key to lasting change. IPC encourages allies to learn, grow, and actively support inclusion efforts.

Community Engagement and How to Get Involved

IPC believes that change starts at the community level. One of the coalition’s main focuses is ensuring that people have access to the information and support they need. They invite anyone interested in advocacy, education, or support to participate in their initiatives.

Why This Matters Now

The launch of IPC comes at a critical moment. Across Canada and beyond, marginalized communities continue to face discrimination and systemic barriers. The 2SLGBTQIA+ community, in particular, has witnessed increasing attacks, both online and in legislative spaces. While progress has been made, recent developments serve as a reminder that rights are not guaranteed without ongoing advocacy.

Organizations like IPC are essential in maintaining momentum, pushing back against harmful narratives, and ensuring that the fight for equality remains active. The coalition is not just about resisting hate—it’s about building a future where inclusivity is the norm, not the exception.

A Call to Action

Now is the time for individuals and organizations to come together in support of inclusivity and equality. The Inclusive Peoples Coalition offers a space where people can find solidarity, resources, and ways to make a tangible impact. Whether you’re a long-time advocate or just starting to learn how to support the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, IPC welcomes you.

As the coalition continues to grow, its success will depend on the collective efforts of its members and supporters. Change happens when people unite with a common purpose. IPC is creating that opportunity—one conversation, one connection, and one step at a time.
