LGBTQ+ Camps - Providing a haven from gender assumptions
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer (LGBTQ+) kids and teens find a safe environment at camps listed below. Gay or trans kids and teens may feel alienated or even excluded in other camps, but these camps provide space for kids to make new friends and develop skills through typical summer camp programming. They’re free to be themselves and meet and learn from others who are in the same boat
According to the Our Kids website that vetted and lists these camps, these lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer (LGBTQ+) kids and teens will find a safe environment at the camps listed on their LGBTQ camps page. These camps are advertised as providing a haven from gender assumptions. Select 'virtual program' from the 'type' menu to show virtual camps only. These are mostly Canadian camps.
Here are some examples of camps available below. Note: As many of these camps are offered in person, on location, with accommodation and food, as well as online, the pricing shown (in CND) may be for those in person camps and not reflect the online program fees, which may be lower.
