Access: Denied

Access: DENIED has been intentionally planned to center disabled drag artists, not as an afterthought but as the foundation of the experience! Our goal is to create a performance space that is intentionally and equitably accessible, both for performers and for the audience.

Some of our key upgrades include an ASL interpreter, a live stream, a ground-level stage setup, (not just a carpet on the floor but a proper platform that ensures performers who use mobility aids are given the same visibility and presence as anyone else) as well as additional lighting around the floor stage to fully showcase the performers! These kinds of small details can often be overlooked, but they provide an equitable performance space for disabled folx. We don’t want to just barely meet accessibility standards, we want something that really feels welcoming and inclusive for ALL disabled folx.
