🌈 Queer Youth Create @ Sunset Community Centre

Queer Youth Create is a social art group for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth aged 13-18 and their allies. QYC is a casual space for youth to work on passion projects, meet new friends, and play with new materials and mediums. This program is facilitated by Wake Darrah Cook, Emily Carr alumnus and published comic artist. Participants will be asked to bring whatever arts, crafts, or writing projects make them happiest. This program is free and the registration is here.

A safe and inclusive space for 2SLGBTQIA+, questioning or unlabelled youth to authentically be themselves. Drop-ins are run by Khai, a queer, cisgender, 2nd-generation Vietnamese young man who is also the Project Assistant for UBC CampOUT! Khai is passionate about creating safe, affirming spaces for queer youth. He loves watching queer media and would be happy to chat about Heartstopper! All Genders is a free weekly youth group for queer folks and their allies to hang out, chat and participate in activities and discussions. We are a safer space for youth to come together, find a sense of self and community, new friends, and an accepting environment.

QCHat - BC charity that provides free, accessible peer support for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth via call, chat and text. Our peer support volunteers are 2SLGBTQIA+ people trained through PeerConnect BC's support modules and our own material. Tutoring - Maxine Beckie tutors math, english, and basic computer science / tech. “I am trans myself and I can provide a safe environment for queer and trans people. I do zoom or in-person. I have been tutoring on-and-off since the pandemic. I have a B.Sc in math from UBC, and I've worked in several different educational jobs.
