Chilliwack Pride 4th Annual Festival

Downtown Chilliwack will bee vibrant with pride on August 21, 2022 when the Chilliwack PRIDE Festival returns for the fourth year. From 10:00am until 4:00pm, Wellington Street, Mill Street, and Victoria Avenue will play host to family-friendly fun, food, art, shopping, and entertainment. Local Drag Queens and musicians will be performing all day throughout the festival grounds. There will be kid-friendly games and prizes for all ages.

The Chilliwack PRIDE Society is committed to hosting an event that works to connect Chilliwack residents to one another and provide access to inclusive local services that can help them live a better, healthier and more authentic life. The PRIDE Festival is a celebration of community, love, and progress.

“PRIDE is about standing together to face the hate and negativity our community experiences around the world,” said Teri Westerby, Chilliwack PRIDE Society President and co-founder. “PRIDE is about challenging the hate. After all, the first pride was a riot and we cannot forget our past. But PRIDE is also about liberation and equality. The freedom to love and to be loved. And about celebrating that love.”

Chilliwack PRIDE Society is excited to host an accessible PRIDE Festival in order to ensure every body is welcome. Festival activities are only reachable to pedestrians, but there is free parking nearby.

The 2022 Pride Festival is presented in partnership with Envision Financial, a division of First West Credit Union. “We are excited to be a partner of the Chilliwack PRIDE Festival because it is so important to us to live out our authentic commitment to equity, inclusion and diversity in our communities,” says Dave Lanphear, President of Envision Financial. “We believe every person should feel welcomed and that they belong – and what better way than to stand in solidarity with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community at this fun, family-friendly, and inclusive event! Let us all celebrate as we remove barriers, biases and stigmas in a vibrant way on this day and everyday.”

Chilliwack PRIDE is privileged to operate on the Stó:lō unceded traditional territory of the Pilalt, Sema:th and Ts’elxwéyeqw tribes. To learn more about the Chilliwack Pride Society or to join as a member, visit chilliwackpride.com
