Organized by a gender-diverse grass roots collective of volunteers, the 2023 Trans, Two-Spirit, Genderqueer, Intersex March is an opportunity for us to celebrate, proudly express our pride and make our voices heard on the issues that affect our lives including violence, bullying, erasure from social histories, harassment and discrimination by public institutions.

We operate in a spirit of inclusion with two-spirit people who may or may not also claim identities such as trans and genderqueer and stand in solidarity with BLM Vancouver, Queer and Trans People of Colour and others that feel unwelcome at mainstream pride events.

This event is being held on the stolen lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples, the original inhabitants of the unceded land which is now known as the city of Vancouver.

Please come prepared for the weather and bring a buddy!

Water, snacks and sunscreen will be made available.

The march is also a platform for expression of outrage with ongoing issues including:

  • Racial discrimination, the intersection of racism and homophobia, and the struggle to stand up for BIPOC trans lives!

  • Expressing outrage at police violence against trans people, especially black trans people!

  • Calling out the inclusion of police in pride!

  • Violence, bullying and erasure from social histories!

  • Denial of explicit legislative protections against discrimination, harassment and more!

  • Institutional failure to recognize and respect gender identities and accord us the dignity we deserve!

  • The lack of adequate affordable housing, free from discrimination and harassment!

  • The criminalization of sex workers!

  • Access to harassment free employment!
