Q+ Works Employment Program for 2SLGBTQIA+ Youth

Q+ Works, is a hybrid and free employment program for 2SLGBTQIA+ Youth offered by The Training Group at Douglas College located at New Westminster campus.

It has zero cost to attend and is specifically designed for multi-barriered youth (age 16-29). Our goal is to connect 2SLGBTQIA+ Youth with employers who celebrate Diversity and foster belonging, as well as to empower them to pursue further education that aligns with their long-term goals.

CLASSES START APRIL 2

  • Up to $300 in completion bonuses.

  • 6 weeks of Essential Skills and Employability Training.

  • Indigenous Awareness, Diversity & Inclusion Training.

  • 4 weeks of 1 on 1 Career Coaching.

  • Daily Food Vouchers.

  • Free Transit Tickets for the entire 6 weeks of in-person classes.

  • 6-month access of LinkedIn Learning account (Valued at $286)

  • 8-month access of Office 365 account (valued at $64)

  • Job placement support.  

  • Field trips and community engagement.

  • Wide Network of Employers celebrating DEI.

  • On-going support with Job search even after the training ends.

JOIN US IF YOU

  • Identify as part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community;

  • Age 16-29;

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada (Open work permit holders are welcome to apply; some restrictions may apply)

  • Living in British Columbia;

  • Not a full-time student (i.e., not enrolled in high school or post-secondary training);

  • Are not actively participating in another provincially or federally funded labor market program; and

  • Currently unemployed or precariously employed.
